Did you know that National Grid offers you a choice when it comes to your energy source? You can opt for your energy to come from a renewable source, such as wind, solar, biomass, or hydroelectric. Through their program called GreenUp , you can choose to have 50% or 100% of your home electricity generated through alternative, renewable sources, and it will only add an average of $6 -$12 per month to your electric bill. You will be helping the environment, and sending a message that alternative energy IS something consumers want as a choice. Signing up is free!! So check it out today, and sign up to make an impact on your world.

Has any body on the committee actually viewed each electric bill for each town and school
ReplyDeleteelectric meter to view, who are the big users of
electricity. Also, did you know, that electricity can be purchased (By municipality) on an index (Monthly) basis rather then a fixed wholesale rate. Thanks for being there.,
Hello Mr. Dempsey!
ReplyDeleteYes, the Energy Committee frequently views the electric and gas bills for all the town buildings, and part of the Town by-law that passed at Town Meeting last year mandated an effort to reduce energy consumption in those buildings. The EC also works closely with Ed Thorne to lock in to rates that are favorable to the Town. Thanks for your comments and please join us at our next meeting (see Town Calendar for details)
